The GM was employed at the pleasure of the Board. I've said the same thing many times on the Forum and also that the BOD should hold the GM accountable. That said, the BOD was never, repeat never, going to fire or dismiss the former GM for not doing his job. Never. So the BOD and GM are both responsible. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Most the the non-maintenance or issues concerning the community hall can apparently be laid at the feet of the prior GM. I heard many stories, most on the Forum, that the BOD passed or approved things to be done or repaired or accomplished (which then becomes the responsibility of the GM) and the GM did nothing, and possibly just totally ignored directions from the BOD. I won't buy that. Where was the oversight? The GM was employed at the pleasure of the Board. Maybe its my imagination but I think the GM/OPEG was, good cop/bad cop played on the property owners. They knew exactly what they were doing. The interim GM is the President of the Board that directed the GM to conduct an invasive inspection of the Community Hall. He is the President of the Board that the GM lied to and he said nothing at the time and did nothing when he had the opportunity. Of cause the interim GM should have arranged the inspection. That was unfinished business and his job was to take care of business, All it required was to engage the Engineering firm that was already selected. |
