The kicker is the committee did not even ask the OPA Board of Directors for input. It certainly did not even ask the OP lot owners for any input. Is the fact that this Committee, which not coincidentally contains the name Ocean Pines, did not even ask OP BOD or GM their take on this issue an honest oversight or arrogance? Is this yet another example of individuals having some POWER, doing what they want and ignoring all others? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: This entire issue of expanding the OP service area was a sell-out at the beginning and continues to be a sell-out. Forget the arguments for or against for a moment. Just consider the following: The Ocean Pines Water and Wastewater Advisory Committee is a county committee created about 10 or 12 years ago with a single purpose -- the protect the interests of the Ocean Pines rate payers. I know the details because the commissioners appointed me as one of the first members. I declined when I noticed that no member of the building community had been appointed and I felt the makeup was unfair without such representation. Thereupon the commissioners appointed Jack Reed, a local builder to my position. So, now this county committee is making an advisory recommendation to the County Commissioners to connect OP and Riddle Farms water supply. The kicker is the committee did not even ask the OPA Board of Directors for input. It certainly did not even ask the OP lot owners for any input. |
