How does it "..more reflects actual usage of services?" I am not sure that I liked the way I used "more" in that sentence. What I meant for example was that 2 couples could each build a home....one builds a $250,000 home and the other builds a $500,000 home. They each basically use the same amount of services. Just because the one couple decides they want to invest in a larger home why should their assessment be increased? Any inequities such as the large home having an extra toilet etc. are more than compensated for in the County tax bill based on home value. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I prefer that our assessments [basically local taxes] be spread among the lot owners equally. It is a fairer system than using a valuation method and more reflects actual usage of services. How does it "..more reflects actual usage of services?" |
