Any fire station should be located on the north side as close to Rt. 589 as possible. Then, I have the perfect location!!! The site of that OP design to the left of the entrance to the North Gate...perhaps the trucks can enter directly onto 589? No trees to cut down and we established that the nearby lot owners are not a concern so minimal impact to the people who live on that cul-de-sac! |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Some large pieces of fire apparatus can't use the underpass. If a piece of equipment can't get under the underpass that creates a big problem. You certainly don't want to drive from Ocean Parkway at the underpass back to Rt. 589, down Rt. 589 and then into the south entrance of OP just to get to a fire at the YC or a condo highrise. Any fire station should be located on the north side as close to Rt. 589 as possible. |
