Still an issue if located at WHP. Why? There is a station on the south side already. It appears to me some people may be confused and thinking this new station will mean the old station is closing. That's not the case. However, the fire department at one time did support a SINGLE large Ocean Pines fire station for all of OP to be located on the OPA commercial property across from the post office. OPA wasn't interested in that idea, preferring to give up a nice chunk of WHP rather than the commercial property. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Some large pieces of fire apparatus can't use the underpass. If they are needed say at the YC and were located on the other side of the underpass, they would have to go all the way around to get to the YC. That property isn't a good choice. Still an issue if located at WHP. |
