I am not sure what the perimeter of the building measures, but it is not so big. It looks like just enough room for the trucks ...and some rooms on the second floor.

If what you say is correct, something is seriously wrong with this picture.  The FD now occupies a space large enough for two engines.  If I understand your comments correctly, the new FD building will also be large enough for only two engines but will also have sleeping quarters on the second floor.

So what you're say is that part of WHP is being destroyed forever to allow the FD to build a building to allow volunteers to sleep.  If that's correct, this is as bad as the CC fiasco perpetrated by the prior BOD.

When you decide to build a new building you build for the future, you don't build to duplicate what you have now.

No wonder at the BOD meeting when the FD representative was ask about needing a new FD building he appeared to hesitate and vacillate in his answer.
