For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: that the membership has ALREADY PAID for the rehabilitation via assessments that went into OPA reserve accounts. The membership paid depreciation on the building. That was probably less than $300,000. Depreciation is based on the cost when built. You, and many others with concerns,(how about the members who live on Crow's Nest Lane?) will be able to address those concerns within the referendum process As you know, the referendum, if one is needed, will not be on the fire department but on the rehab of the Community Hall. Consider the possibility that the referendum might be rejected if enough people oppose the loss of the area in White Horse Park. What's that old axiom? For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Or, the Law of Unintended Consequences. |
