Yes, I really believe that if the OPVFD had not asked to move out this would never have been considered. Some people have said that the OPVFD made the offer to move to "help" OPA have more meeting space. I believe the OPVFD may have indicated that, but - as I said - I believe, firmly, that it is the OPVFD that is looking out for their own best interests for the long haul. Please do not interpret that as a negative comment. As I said, I believe that you will believe what you want to believe. My opinion is what it is. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: While we will gain some space and will be able to provide a very nice, "like-new" Community Hall I believe, firmly, that it is the OPVFD that "drove" this decision and not the need for more meeting space. I watched the video where, in an off hand comment you specifically asked the FD representative whether they "really" needed this new space and was surprised to see a rather nonchalant response. I also remember comments from the FD that they would be willing to stay where they are already located. Sorry, but I believe the desire to have that additional space, now occupied by the FD, for the CH rehab was the real driver behind this whole issue. Do you really believe, that if there was no CH rehab at all, the FD would be asking to have a substantial portion of White Horse Park to build a new station? |
