How many property owners would do little or nothing about an assessed value of $3 million when the property may actually be worth $2 million if the assessment is appealed. Almost none. This is why almost every county in MD, including Worcester, is seeing their property tax revenue fall off the boards. Everybody is appealing their property assessments and winning a reduction in their taxes. Why would someone want to pay tax on $3M when they could pay tax on $2M? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: but the framework where Seacrets bears all the maintenance, utilities, taxes, etc. is, in my opinion, the best set up for OPA. In general I agree, but not the tax part. How many property owners would do little or nothing about an assessed value of $3 million when the property may actually be worth $2 million if the assessment is appealed. |
