Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Seacrets Lease 4/15/2010 Msg# 738932

Is that what you are suggesting? What I'm suggesting is that since Seacrets couldn't get the 99-year lease it wanted in 2009, it got the next best thing. And the next best thing was protection for their encroachments by having the lease renegotiated. I can't blame Seacrets as it's a good business decision. Why would a 2008 lease be renegotiated in 2010 to the betterment of the lessee? One board member took great pride in a clause in the new contract saying if the lease was not renewed at some point then Seacrets would have to remove the encroaching structures. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Rick, The current BOD renegotiated the Seacrets lease now to prevent those encroaching structures at Seacrets from being removed by the next or new BOD arriving this August. Here we go again! On what do you base this comment? There are only three seats up for election so the other four could block any attempt to void the previous lease. To believe what you are saying one must believe that Marty Clarke and/or Bill Rakow orchestrated this since they are both going off the Board. Is that what you are suggesting? Did you bother to read the lease? Ted |
