Section 5: OPA Board Subject: First Things First Msg# 164961

I admit to being fairly new to OP, but I don't believe when it comes to the election of commissioners that I get to vote for my choice of seven at-large candidates whose responsibility it is to do what they think is best for the county as a whole. I can vote for one commissioner, elected from my district, to represent my district. How many voters in Tom Cetola's district desired him to vote in favor of this motion? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: In the end the Commissioners rejected the notion of protecting people in Ocean Pines; in the end it was all about the lawyers and the money - our money, the developers's lawyers. I'm sorry, Joe, but I don't buy your flip characterization that this whole thing is about nothing more than more than lawyers and money. Reasonable minds can disagree concerning important matters such as this. I think that all seven commissioners based their vote on what they feel is in the best interest of Worcester County, and I think you do a disservice to your readership, and the debate, by suggesting otherwise. More on this later . . . I have to go to OC for a long run . . . Later . . .
