Bill:
I am also a member of the VFW and the American Legion. I am also a member of the Cambridge Yacht Club. The difference is I chose to support these clubs and can quite at any time I no longer feel that they are operated in my best interests. This is not about the money, it is about the bad business decisions that have generated the need for the money. I know, you can point out that I also chose to live in Ocean Pines. When I first moved into Ocean Pines in the early 1970s the business amenities were operated as businesses. The golf course membership and outside retail play paid for the costs and the Aquatics operation was a money maker. The evidenace is the assessment was only $50.00 a year. Marty |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Bill, this business of trivializing losses of many hundreds of thousands of assessment dollars by dividing by 8440 and then dividing by 52 is pure nonsense Joe, In your opinion it is pure nonsense, but the figures don't lie. My dues at american legion post 28 and VFW mason dixon post is 25 bucks apiece, I have not set foot in either club for a few years so 25 bucks to keep the YC open is a deal. |
