Section 5: OPA Board Subject: OPA Loses IRS Case Msg# 823753

Each case is identified as "injunction" or, "foreclosure". There were probably at least 50 or more of foreclosures. I assumed the injunctions were to force owners to comply with property regulations.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Judy: "and in checking the Maryland State Case Information, OPA has filed many foreclosure cases over the years to collect past asssessments" To the best of my knowledge there has been less then ten (10) foreclosure actions against members who owe delinquent assessment in the last five (5) years. In fact I would bet on it.On the other hand, if a member doesn't have lattice around a porch, or an automobile with expired license plates on his property, coupled with a complaining neighbor, then you can bet your you know what they are going to get sued by the OPA. My guess is that is what you are looking at on line and there is a bunch. Marty |
