Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Vote YES on YC Referendum Msg# 839718

Ted:
I personally do not think we, you and I, will have a one in ten chance of selling the board on closing the Yacht Club in the off season should the membership vote to invest $4.3 Million in the new and larger facility. Not a chance and you know it. What does the business plan say? The one I read in February had the new facility open year round. On the other hand should the membership vote to NO I think we have hope. Marty |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Marty, Thanks for confirming that the operational losses can be stemmed rather easily. The main objection to the new building has been operational performance. Logically, if simply operating the restaurant seasonally will alleviate that issue, then those basing their objections solely on operations may find that is no longer a reason not to support the new building. While we have disagreed on approach to this project, we do agree on seasonal operation and I will support a move to do just that in our new Yacht Club. This then can be a win-win. Ted |
