Joe. I am so tired of hearing how catering is profit and reg operation loses money. I don't care how you or anyone else spins it. The yc loses money every year. Until a business plan is presented on how the bleeding is to be stopped; why should 4.5mill. Be thrown into the yc to build the same thing that will still lose money even with catering. I for one will vote using common scense.... Robert |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I believe there are some numbers specific to catering indicating it is rather profitable. Your post includes only negatives by using a regular and catering combined number. Would it not be more informative to also provide the available catering-only numbers that indicate a pretty good profit? We could debate whether catering "enables mismanagement," but a new structure with modern catering capabilities could very well make the entire operation hit the break-even level and possibly make a fair profit even if the regular food and beverage operation doesn't improve one iota. |
