Thanks for your comments, Joe. Just fail to understand how the average resident can stop the bleeding. In 1987 when I bought in Ocean Pines the association fees were I thing $235.00 a year I guess the only way to have a say on reasonable association fees is to leave. Then you don't have to pay them at all. Don't by the home values are higher becasue of the amenities availability. One has to pay additional fees to enjoy most amenities other than ponds, walking trails and bike lanes, I believe. Thanksa agin for you comments, now lets vote in some folks who do not like to spend. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: So, how do most of us who don't benefit from the Golf Course or the Beach club or the new Community Center get something for our money besides more of it being taken away? Some might say your home value is higher becasue of the amenities availability. Others might ask why you bought into a HOA with loads of amenities (now approaching 45 years of age) that you thought would be of no benefit. I have no idea how to answer your question. We can't eve have a choice on cable providers. That really has little or nothing to do with OPA. DirecTV is an option if you have the line of sight. An antenna is an option for stations out of Salisbury. Many communities across the country outside of major metropolitan areas have only a single cable provider. |
