I believe it is the Pleistocene Aquifer. Water from it contains little iron, tastes, good, and requires very little treatment.
We very well could have a shortage of water from that aquifer if the county has its way and starts sending water from this aquifer to and OP Service Area to areas outside OP. Then water would come from deep wells and require expensive treatment, almost as expensive as sewage treatment. We have no shortage of water, but the county could certainly make decisions that would greatly increase the cost. Most all the water in OC comes from the deeper reservoirs and requires expensive treatment. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Everyone needs to realize that there is only so much water to go around We are very fortunate in the Pines as our wells are drilled into a reservoir [forget name] that extends up into New Jersey [I think] and according to one County water expert to which I spoke it would be unlikely we would ever have a water shortage. |
