For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Sorry, I just do not agree with any of your comments. No problem at all. If it is placed on referendum, eliminating the golf course could happen. Indeed. Then again those people who vote for its demise probably don't support our community in anything. Judgmental to an extreme, and certainly incorrect in its totality. Quick story about Marvin Steen who has stoked the fire on this open space issue. I was tasked back around 2005 with raising money for the large circular bronze medallion around the base of the U.S. flag at the Ocean Pines Veterans Memorial. I figured I'd have to make a lot of calls for donations. As it happened I called Steen first. Halfway through my prepared pitch, he interrupted me and asked, "How much will it cost?" "Perhaps $7,000", I replied. He then said, "Get whatever you think is appropriate and send me the bill." |
