Other than one of the finest parks on the east coast?
And just how long before community special interest groups pop up with ideas to put this area and that, of our fine park,"to better use?" Let's hope we can get a cannabis bill signed into law before the 'Do Gooders' pull a land grab and get to planting corn a soy beans. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: all you'll hear from the 'keepers' is "we lost a great golf amenity and got nothing for it." Other than one of the finest parks on the east coast? With regard to the geese, all of the various options, including the one you mention, are spelled out rather clearly on the U.S.F.W.S. web site and have been presented to the board by the Environmental & Natural Assets Committee. Interestingly, I don't believe the service any longer allows relocation. If on-site non-lethal means of control fail, the only alternative is "euthanasia." -- Killing them in non-government speak. Based on my reading, OPA must first show other non-lethal methods have failed before a kill permit will be issued. Nothing is going to happen fast. |
