Nancy You've said In the last fifteen years I have heard of several issues that upset people and it appears that nothing was done to help the situation. I would love to hear from the golfers who left.
Surely you've know that big golf debates occurred, rates were jockied, lifetime memberships offered, golf advisory committees containing mostly golfers advising, some advertising, tee times debated (maybe jockied) walking fees, golf leadership changed etc. So you can't really contend nothing was done. So many things were tried, that it appears the string is running out on options But I'm thinking there's too few of them who may come back, too few to move OP's course out of its large financial stress, back from the brink. So if there's too few, why go through the exercise you're asking for. Are you thinking there's enough of them willing to return?? I doubt it. Tom |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: My thought is the board finally figured out it was incapable of figuring it out, and thus turned to Casper. People should keep in mind that Casper was initially asked to take over golf and all food/beverage operations. The committee that looked into outsourcing recommended Casper take over golf and food/beverage. Casper told the board quite clearly they thought food and beverage was where the most improvement was to be found financially, not golf. Then Bob Thompson begged the board to let him and Joe Reinhart continue to operate food and beverage. The board agreed, at a meeting that was heavily attended by Joe's supporters, ignoring both Casper's advice and the advice of the committee. The board bought a song and dance and the effort subsequently failed; Bob then threw Joe under the bus. Joe Joe, None of this has anything to do with the FEELINGS of the golfers who left the Ocean Pines golf course.
