For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: We have a vacation home in OP. I am so pleased to hear of COPE and wholeheartedly support franchise/leasing option for Golf. Residents cannot continue to support the losses and expenses associated with golfing, which is enjoyed by relative few residents. Right now there is no real incentive for "Golfers" to curtail costs or be profitable as they are bailed out by the association. Even better than the franchise option, is the conversion to walking trails! OP, while is has a number of parks, there are not many long trails. Other than walking on the road, the lake near the sports pool is the only other good trail. My husband and I are considering retiring to OP, but are concerned about the ever rising association fees and losses that the Yacht Club, Country Club occur. I hope that the General Manager and Board will give serious considerations to the suggestions of COPE. Sincerely, Joyce Goodson. |
