Section 5: OPA Board Subject: GM Challenges Board Msg# 915207

The concern our GM had regarding members of OPA asking if due diligence had been completed by the board prior to entering contract negotiations with LU.
The GM's concerns are political. He is attempting to discredit the majority. What do you think prompted the GM to do what he did? Start asking questions of some high profile golfers who side with the GM about Casper. I have listened again to the BOD video and do not hear at any time the GM stating the board made a mistake. At what point did the GM say that? Thompson's words: "I'm not saying I'm above making a mistake because I do all the time, but when I'm made aware of them I try to correct them. I think that's kind of the measure of where we are and I'm a little concerned here." It would certainly be a mistake if the board has not done due diligence or is not in the process of completing that action. All the board did was vote to begin negotiations. Three people are involved: Tom Terry, Dave Stevens, and Jack Collins. Should some agreement be reached, it will be reviewed by the OPA attorney, probably OPA contract review group, and finally the entire board before a final vote. Meantime, perhaps some group of disgruntled golfers have hired a detective agency to investigate LU. If any of their management has so much as a jay-walking ticket, I expect we'll hear about it. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: What concerns? The concern our GM had regarding members of OPA asking if due diligence had been completed by the board prior to entering contract negotiations with LU. All I heard is the GM state that the board made a mistake and it did not do due diligence. I have listened again to the BOD video and do not hear at any time the GM stating the board made a mistake. At what point did the GM say that? I heard the GM asking the board if due diligence had been completed so he could answer questions coming to him from the OPA membership. It would certainly be a mistake if the board has not done due diligence or is not in the process of completing that action. |
