Maybe Bob Thompson has another job offer and he wants to be sacked so he gets a big payday before moving on? Crazier things have happened before. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Just a short time ago you were commenting about O'Hare and Clarke voting to discuss this issue in public while the others voted to go into closed session. You even suggested to Mr. Stevens that going into closed session may be in violation of the law. I think reasonable people can see the difference between what the board decides to discuss in public or not based on Maryland law and their own judgment, and what an employee says at a public meeting. This move by Thompson was pure political theater. Employees who publicly contradict their employers are courting dismissal. In Thompson position, he should never have said what he said in public. You, or anyone, is, of course, free to think otherwise. Why should it be a secret if unfavorable information may exist regarding the potential new golf course operator? What unfavorable information are you referencing? Of are you simply suggesting a witch hunt to find for anything unfavorable to Landscapes Unlimited? I'm certain they would not be difficult to find. Nor would they be difficult to find for Casper, or any other company. Interestingly, this entire process that ended with the removal of Casper was initiated by Tom Terry as board president and with the support of Bill Cordwell and Sharyn O'Hare. Terry and the other two insisted Casper meet a budget number or else. This was before Stevens or Renaud even arrived on the scene. The expected loss this year in golf looks to end up at twice the loss Terry, Cordwell and O'Hare said they would tolerate. Finally, the Ocean Pines Board of Directors made a decision. The board's employee then comes to a public board meeting and makes unsupported claims that the board made a mistake. The employee even says he makes mistakes too, but he corrects his mistakes. This was a pure in-your-face from an employee to his bosses. It was an arrogant and irresponsible action. It has nothing to do with public or private board sessions or the Maryland Home Owner Association Act.. |
