Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Cordwell on Golf Msg# 915723

Had an opportunity earlier today to review the video of Mr. Cordwell's comments as a property owner, before the board this past Thursday. Perhaps I missed some of his comments, but I did not hear anything offensive being said by Mr. Cordwell. Rather, his comments seemed to be focused on his belief (as a board member) that the board as a whole had not accomplished a thorough process in vetting LU prior to choosing them as the company to negotiate a management contract.
Listening to Mr. Cordwell's comments I came away with the belief that his position was for OP to move back to self management and eliminate the approximately $80,000 that would be paid to a new management company. I don't think he was backing Casper, at least that's not what I heard him say. Seems that he believes the real problem with our course in previous years was the condition of the course. Now that that has been corrected he seemed to believe OPA was in a much better position to continue improvements to increased membership and play.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Bad form, poor judgement, lack of civility, has invaded our highest public institutions where people are expected to work together for the common good...no surprise that it exists in OPA land. I tend to agree that Cordwell not the first to be outspoken publicly on disagreeing with board action. A certain board member does just that on this forum...explain the difference? sadly the standard for civil discourse has deteriorated, probably exacerbated by social media such as forums
