Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Cordwell on Golf Msg# 915730

Perhaps I missed some of his comments, but I did not hear anything offensive being said by Mr. Cordwell.
Try reading the last issue of the Bayside Gazette. Cordwell is a very angry person. Very angry, and his direct quotes about the board, about Dave Stevens, about Landscapes Unlimited can leave no doubt in the minds of reasonable people. Cordwell, for example, among other tidbits said: "This board shouldn't be running the day-to-day operations of a snowball stand." If that is not offensive to his fellow board members, what would be offensive? A few weeks ago in other Cordwell quotes in the Bayside Gazette, he sought to remind Dave Stevens that Stevens was acting like the dictator of North Korea. Listening to Mr. Cordwell's comments I came away with the belief that his position was for OP to move back to self management and eliminate the approximately $80,000 that would be paid to a new management company. Hummm. Let's see, Cordwell wants to return to self management? Isn't that the same approach that was costing us about $240,000 in losses a year? I believe Cordwell lobbied for keeping Casper..... strongly. I believe he mentioned self management only in the context that he would prefer self management to Landscapes Unlimited. He prefers anything to Landscapes Unlimited because he preferred Capser to LU, and Stevens /Clarke/etc voted for LU. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Had an opportunity earlier today to review the video of Mr. Cordwell's comments as a property owner, before the board this past Thursday. Perhaps I missed some of his comments, but I did not hear anything offensive being said by Mr. Cordwell. Rather, his comments seemed to be focused on his belief (as a board member) that the board as a whole had not accomplished a thorough process in vetting LU prior to choosing them as the company to negotiate a management contract. Listening to Mr. Cordwell's comments I came away with the belief that his position was for OP to move back to self management and eliminate the approximately $80,000 that would be paid to a new management company. I don't think he was backing Casper, at least that's not what I heard him say. Seems that he believes the real problem with our course in previous years was the condition of the course. Now that that has been corrected he seemed to believe OPA was in a much better position to continue improvements to increased membership and play.
