Joe: Sorry…did mean to get you riled up……
Not at all. Just another day in the OPA Theater. I'll try use the little thingies more so you don't think I'm "riled up." so would this be a bad time to ask if the same architect that designed the pool enclosure designed the YC? Not at all. Different people. Want another story on the covered pool? While board members wanted it, they were afraid to have it go to referendum. So, the pool cover was redesigned three times before the cost was reduced to just below the amount that would have required a referendum. It turned a $100,000 a year Aquatics profit center into a $250,000 or so loss center. It would also be helpful to understand why, if such a public record exists, that accountability seems to be lacking. I know you are only one vote however an understanding of the thoughts of the other BOD members would be helpful in developing and advocating for a possible solution. Essentially because during the four years that Tom Terry was OPA president and more or less in control of a majority of board votes, the GM could do no wrong. Again, it all boils down to what any four board members want on any given issue. There is no solution. Why? Because one cannot always believe what board candidates say when running. For example, Dan Stachurski ran last time on a fiscal conservative platform. He abandoned that the instant the election results had him a winner. Best bet? Sit back and enjoy the entertainment and the fodder it provides for an online forum like this. Oh, here's a cartoon that ran after the aforementioned Dan Stachurski was elected: Image below from JimAdcock - Image Title: Dan, The Phoenix |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe: Sorry…did mean to get you riled up……so would this be a bad time to ask if the same architect that designed the pool enclosure designed the YC? P.S. Mr. Clarke: You are a member of the BOD and based on my review of your various postings you at least seem to have the best interests of the Pines at heart. I’m not trying to play cute but is there anyway you could share your sentiments on the above actions enumerated by Joe regarding the YC? It would also be helpful to understand why, if such a public record exists, that accountability seems to be lacking. I know you are only one vote however an understanding of the thoughts of the other BOD members would be helpful in developing and advocating for a possible solution. Once again, to be clear, my inquiry has no other intent than to better understand the facts and circumstances...not I got yah! Thank You! |
