The Board, at that time, decided to utilize a survey conducted by a couple of their own members who stood at the door and asked people coming in to the pool (and nobody else), "Will you use the pool in the winter if we cover it?"
Heather Cook & Company. The alternative would have been to pay a qualified third party for advise. They could even have consulted already published stories on the fiscal viability of other covered community pools. They did neither. The board heard from some indoor pool business expert in the Baltimore/DC area. He said there were not enough people living in all of Worcester County to viably support an indoor pool business. The board was intent on proving him correct, and have done an admirable job thus far. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I think perhaps the enclosed pool fiasco is partly the result of some study or survey. You are correct. But, it was not a professional study or survey.
