Hello Mr. Hemmick: the actions of prior boards to garner input from the owners are desirable and you are absolutely correct when you conclude that if this BOD wanted to know they have the means available.
I’m curious, does anyone know how many of the BOD members read/participate in this forum, besides Mr. Clarke? P.S Joe, is it possible, desirable, to use this forum for a straw poll on the issues that are being discussed. A brief questionnaire could be drafted and circulated on the forum, the forum members would respond and then the results could be summarized and sent to the BOD for their review and consideration. Now, before you jump all over me (lol) I know the output would not even come close to rigor however it is a straw poll and therefore can attest to the sentiments of the forum members….just a thought! |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: . . . too many of the BOD’s decisions are ad hoc simply because they do not have a sense of the pulse of their constituents. Hi Ev There was a time when the BOD had some public meetings where they invited comments on issues, a week or two before formally debating and voting on formal motions. Then there was a time when a board member, Judy Boggs held frequent meetings in members homes to discuss issues. Both of these initiated more member participation. Its lacking now, as you've commented. Seems they can get inputs in various ways, if they wanted it. Tom |
