IMO the VA is working very hard to take care of our Veterans, who are living longer than ever. They IMO have a massive mission and it increased recently with the PACT Act. I never availed myself to the VA until the ACT. However since I have been in almost all of the regions covered I decided to apply. I have gone through a number of exams and tests and it will be interesting to see how it all comes out.
Up until now I have always used TRICARE for Life combined with Medicare and will continue to use even after I finish all of the tests. Why because as Ed said there are others out there who need the access to the VA. Fortunately over the last few years the VA has expanded their care by using outside providers and those who I know that use them have had no complaints. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Robert, The VA supplying hearing aids does not automatically give the Vet a disability benefit of 150 dollars. Disability for loss of hearing has to be established as service connected as any claim for disability. The VA assigns a Veteran to a priority group 1 thru 8 based on military service history and your disability rating and your income level. Service connected disability is assigned a highest priority. The lowest priority is assigned to Veterans who have a higher income and who don't have any service connected disability's qualifying them for disability compensation monthly benefits. Simply stated, some Veterans make too much money to qualify. |
