John, hope all the tests come back negative. Agent Orange, burn pits, and various other exposures took a toll on out Veterans.
The VA went through a transition during the Trump era for the better after a few of the directors were fired for incompetency. Veterans were waiting months on end for appointments, having to travel a long way to finally see a VA doctor. Now, by law, if you have to wait 30 days for an appointment the VA sends you to an outside provider. The Va keeps your medicare and supplemental insurance on file and will charge supplemental if you have it. In my opinion, they should also charge medicare for those Veterans that are eligible. Thank God for the VA as some of these poor disabled Veterans would not have care. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: IMO the VA is working very hard to take care of our Veterans, who are living longer than ever. They IMO have a massive mission and it increased recently with the PACT Act. I never availed myself to the VA until the ACT. However since I have been in almost all of the regions covered I decided to apply. I have gone through a number of exams and tests and it will be interesting to see how it all comes out. Up until now I have always used TRICARE for Life combined with Medicare and will continue to use even after I finish all of the tests. Why because as Ed said there are others out there who need the access to the VA. Fortunately over the last few years the VA has expanded their care by using outside providers and those who I know that use them have had no complaints. |
