There were 2 big points of contention raised in this video (which we will never see on America's Funniest BTW).
The 1st was whether or not the Pres. needs board approval of his golf liaison appointments. The 2nd was whether they should be golfers or a more overall representative of the community. IMHO the answer to 1 is no, he does not. By appointing a BOD member and their accepting, he by definition already has received their tacit approval. This was demonstrated in the silly superfluous vote that the GM instructed them to conduct. The answer to 2 is that they should be golfers or at least an advocate of the golf amenity. The reasons for this should be obvious and I was disappointed in Ms Jacob's remarks which demonstrated to me she does not understand the distinction between the responsibilities of a Board member and those of an elected politician. |
