Section 5: OPA Board Subject: It Was Embarrassing Msg# 937333

What's the big whoop-de-doo about needing a business plan to describe what needs to be done? And whay has it taken months to get this moving? This is Marketing 101, not brain surgery. I seldom see an ad for OPGC. Never see deals or coupons such as other courses have. What about fixed price winter deals such as the Talon Club at Eagle's Landing? Golf as much as you want from 11/1 to 3/31 for $180. Nothing like that at OP. How about a deal like River Run has: buy two dinner entrees and get a round of golf? That would help the YC and get people on the course. At least there would be revenue from golf cart rentals. How about this: buy a backage of 10 rounds of golf for $375. If you wish to be a member at the end of your 10 rounds, you get the $375 knocked off your membership fee. At the very least, send a letter out to association members talking up the course and offering an introductory rate or a special "we want you back" rate. All of this should have been underway for months, and for that matter, should have been done while Casper was here.
As regards the meeting decorum, after watching the video, I thought it was less raucous than your initial post led me to believe. Perhaps watching the Republican debates has me jaded. But still, these guys need to need to improve. Finally, I was disappointed by Thompson. The way simple questions were being answered seemed somehow, well, shifty. And I don't understand why that is, nor do I understand why information is apparently being withheld from board members. But isn't there a saying "Information is power?" Ok, I'll sit down now. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Your sarcasm overwhelms. You probably think Cordwell is also rooting for LU's success.
Just what did you expect LU to say in that video answer? Whatever their plan, it surely be more detailed than the YC business plan the GM promised for years and never delivered. Now that is propritary. |
