Here is a question I asked (in the presence of witnesses) never answered by the golf manager, why is it unethical for OP residents who belong to the 19th Holers to be allowed to play Wednesday afternoons between 1:00 and 2:00 PM for $20 when every other course in the area lets them play for $20 or less. These guys have over 60 members, all but two are assessment paying residents. They support the golf operation with their assessment dollars, yet are treated as outcasts by their own golf club. There is almost no one on the course Wednesday afternoons, why wouldn't you bend over backwards to accommodate these guys. I could go on and on with this but I think this example covers what is wrong with golf in OP.
Frank, I will tell what is the matter , I am a member of Ocean Pines paying my membership fee for the year. My cost for a round of golf is 22 bucks. You want a non member to come in and pay 2 bucks less then a paying member. Help me out here , If they want to play for 22 bucks, join the club, Treated like outcasts, really, give me a break. BTW go on and on with this, you don't have a leg to stand on. BTW , I am a member that pays for the full year and only lives here 6 months a year, |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Marty, You sure got that part correct. Although, they are supposed to be a social group with no official direct connection to the golf operation, BULL. I haven't seen any attempt by the golf operation to improve the bottom line for golf. I am aware of several nearly missed and missed opportunities by golf management to improve golf finances. What has been done to attempt to bring back disgruntled OP golfers? Why are the surrounding golf courses more friendly, accommodating and interested in getting you to play at their course. I think this question also requires an answer. Why was Jack Collins left off. Was it because he did an excellent job bringing LU to OP and he is a golfer, therefore he has some idea what golfers want and require to return again and again. Now you have no nothings trying to run an operation they know nothing about. As Mr. Reynolds likes to say, "you can't make this stuff up", this nonsense is unbelievable. Frank Frank |
