I'd like to see the trails get some attention. There are a couple spots where you feel like you are trespassing on private property where you almost brush against a house.
I remember the trail behind the Library [entrance in back corner of parking lot] gets pretty close to the homes at the pond. If their are trails that are poorly maintained and you know where I would pass that on to management. Jack, I feel that Boise bequeathed OPA a fine planned community with nice amenities and it is time for us to step up to the plate and fund them. The save-a-buck crowd will always be with us and deserve to be ignored for the cheapskates they are. We do have nice amenities but I disagree with your save a buck remark. When 10 million dollars is allocated to our golf course that is poorly supported then someone needs to speak up. Same for the YC which, as a restaurant, would be out of business without the subsidy from property owners. As far as the YC goes it has become a disappointment for a variety of reasons for those that take the time to look or use it regularly. Being there most every week I watch owners walk around with guests showing off the facility. From that perspective it looks somewhat impressive split block and all but when the rubber hits the road and it comes to things like menu, bar issues, food disappointments atmosphere etc. help is needed. The bottom line is that folks vote with their wallets which so far has not been too impressive. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I assume you mean that one can drive to various trails. A continuous walk looks difficult to do as the trails do not connect. That is a pretty nice map but a little hard for me to decipher. I couldn't tell if any trails in the Parke were on it. I'd like to see the trails get some attention. There are a couple spots where you feel like you are trespassing on private property where you almost brush against a house. The lack of maintenance and the absence of complaints about it tells me that the trails have pretty much been abandoned for all practical purposes and mother Nature is reclaiming them. The save-a-buck crowd will always be with us and deserve to be ignored for the cheapskates they are. As for the anti YC folks, I brought out of town family there for family fun night last summer and they were mucho impressed with the facility. It is an imposing edifice and does not look like it was done on a shoestring budget, split block and all, which many might pass off as a regional thingee. |
