For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I'm sure the publisher of the Harry Potter books could have employed a proof reader. The problem is that when the author gets so big (say bloated Tom Clancy, for instance) they don't want an editor messing with their baby. I remember reading one of the later books by Ken Follett who wrote Eye of the Needle..a good book and great movie. In this later book, one of the characters killed off in one chapter briefly reappeared in the next chapter. The book went straight to recycling. As for "baited breath"...I'd recommend Lavoris. |
