If it were designated as a natural wetlands, there wouldn't be lot of maintenance needed or allowed
Bob That's the kind of thinking that's needed. I'm not sure the wetlands category would be achieved, but you're giving an example, floating some ideas for alternatives for conversion of the OP golf course. Maybe this would work for some portions of the land. Great. The more ideas and input, the better, IMO. Tom |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Sorry Larry - Never said it was too hard for me, I still manage the mid 70s from the whites. And I started playing during WW-II. I agree its a great course but the tee placements have little to do with that. I love to see the "beer for breakfast" bunch show up and go to the tips and then look for their lost balls in the trees for a half hour or so on many holes. Men, as a rule, live by the motto that the older they get, the better they were and won't play from the age/skill appropriate tees. There's a reason that courses like Eagles, Rum Point, Lighthouse are so open, it makes play much faster. I just haven't seen any indication that our BoD and GM have any of the skill set needed to turn this around. I'll stick by my statement that golf has seen its glory days. The coming generations have other interest and we seem to think they are like us or the way we think we were. If it were designated as a natural wetlands, there wouldn't be lot of maintenance needed or allowed |
