Nancy...
Contemporary food trucks may look tacky on the outside ( but the exterior is their advertising/marketing) however, their menus are usually high end. We have several trucks coming to where I work and the Food Trucks are high end food vendors serving Niche markets: specialty items, various ethnic, gourmet, organic, desserts, vegan etc. foods and many of the trucks have devoted followers or groupies that follow the trucks from site to site. You'll even see LONG lines for some of these trucks. It's not my type of dining experience, but it works in urban areas. I hear the permitting and licensing process can be a nightmare. If OP needs anything, it is an old fashioned hot dog cart to sell Sabretts Hot Dogs. M/R |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hi Tom, Thank you so much for being here and reading our concerns. I hope that you can get the BOD to use some common sense, and ask the GM questions about his proposals, and get details. He does not tend to the everyday business of keeping the community looking decent and maintaining what we have. He is always got some crazy scheme to spend our money when it should be used for SENSIBLE projects. I have been a property owner since the spring of 1969 and it makes me sad to see that such poor "housekeeping" is making our community look seedy. The idea of putting a Food Truck in the parking lot of a $5 million Yacht Club is absurd. I don't think the GM understands that Food Trucks belong in areas where there is no place to prepare food. We have a new kitchen, paid staff to cook food, and a lovely setting in which to serve it. Food Trucks are quite tacky....but necessary in many places. I worry that we are letting the Country Club fall to pieces while we spend money on frivolous things. There are several things that need attention before we go on to some new projects Please help us get the community back on track, and urge the other BoD members to do so. Thank you. Nancy Weber |
