If we had been allowing "the public" to rent parking space and go to the pools....we would NOT have been in trouble with the IRS.
I don't believe the word pool was ever mentioned in the IRS case. So what's the big deal? Indeed we had to pay some tax dollars, now we do not and I doubt OPA sells more than dozen parking day passes every season. You will note, those day passes do not come with pool use. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe, If we had been allowing "the public" to rent parking space and go to the pools....we would NOT have been in trouble with the IRS. That is what the whole thing was about...Excluding the Public! The BoD would have been very quick to point that out to the IRS and it is most likely that we would NOT have opened up EVERYTHING WE HAVE TO THE PUBLIC. ( not that we really had to do it.) They would have been satisfied because it was ONLY about the Ocean City property. Any outsider who got a pass was not doing it with OPA knowledge. Nancy |
