There is no provision on the Non-member Amenity Application Form to purchase a seasonal or weekly Beach Parking Pass, either at full price or a reduced price by also purchasing a full amenity membership for any of our other amenities.
Both forms utilized to purchase an annual Beach Parking pass, or a weekly Beach Parking Pass with weekly swim pass is for property owners only or the renters of an Oceans Pines property. Completion of these forms requires you to list your Ocean Pines property address including Lot # and Section #. Someone who does not own property in OP or is not renting property in OP would not qualify for a Beach Parking Pass except for the daily pass at the $30 per day rate. Viewing of these forms is available on the Ocean Pines web site. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: If we had been allowing "the public" to rent parking space and go to the pools....we would NOT have been in trouble with the IRS. Nancy
So what's the big deal? Indeed we had to pay some tax dollars, now we do not and I doubt OPA sells more than dozen parking day passes every season. You will note, those day passes do not come with pool use. Joe Joe, That reply was in reference to the post about condo owners in Ocean City buying parking and pool passes. My point was that if in fact we had been doing that...."sharing with the public" the IRS would not have been after us for "making a profit" on land that was not physically connected to Ocean Pines. And we would have pointed that out to them very quickly had we been letting Ocean City condo owners buy parking passes. The only "profit that was being made was coming from OP Property Owners. OPA never even broke even on anything else we did, so why was the IRS was so interested in the parking lot? At that meeting some of the BoD members were in a state of panic over the whole thing. THAT was when they decided to just open up an HOA to the whole world and take on the role of the WoCo recreation department. Skip Carey...ran that meeting and he would not allow any OP members to say a word. I remember being so MAD! Did you have a video of that meeting? Nancy |
