My wife and I attended the community center meeting on-line. Subsequently I understand that the paddle tennis association offered to pay 75% of the costs of adding 2 new paddle tennis courts, that they may support upgrading the existing paddle tennis courts, and that their offer has a time limit.
I have not heard this. What community center meeting are you talking about? The meeting under discussion took place in the boardroom. Perhaps paddle tennis and pickleball courts could be installed at the Swim & Racket Club also. The paddle court was moved from Swim & Racquet Club to Manklin Meadows some years ago. OPA is also investing about $100,000 in repaving tennis courts at Swim & Racquet Club. Spending $100,000 to refurbish free tennis courts when OPA has a fee-based tennis facility elsewhere makes little sense to me. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: My wife and I attended the community center meeting on-line. Subsequently I understand that the paddle tennis association offered to pay 75% of the costs of adding 2 new paddle tennis courts, that they may support upgrading the existing paddle tennis courts, and that their offer has a time limit. I hope that this was considered before committing any money for pickle ball. Perhaps paddle tennis and pickleball courts could be installed at the Swim & Racket Club also. Please don't allow the association to overcommit to the Manklin Creek project. |
