Joe,
My positon is not that I would not agree to hire a new GM. My position is that the majority board has let him operate with little control or direction. I think if you ask him we would tell you the same. My positon is that my goal is to provide GM the direction with specific time frames and parameters and determine if he can operate with those controls. I would not give a the GM a extended period to show his worth. I don't really care if you feel my positions are laughable or nonsensical. I am not going to run for the Board like a mad dog with the sole platform to fire the GM. I intend to operate like a adult with mutual respect for the other board members, staff and fellow community members. I will draw my own conclusion based on my experiences and then act appropriately. For someone who doesn't know me or my level of resolve to improve the operation of the Board and community your opinion is the real nonsense. Larry |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The General, the Commander, The Captain, the CEO, the GM or whatever else you want to call the person at the top is ultimately responsible for what his/her organization does or fails to to do. Thus that is where the replacement process usually starts. Beg to differ. The top dog is the Board of Directors. The GM is a board employee. The GM will stay until some board hires a new GM. Consider that Larry Perrone, an announced candidate, says he would not support hiring a new GM because the current GM has not been given enough time free of board interference to prove he can do the job. With that sort of nonsense he probably has a good chance of winning. Unbelievable. |
