The name of the restuarant was The Ocean Club. Dr. Berger is the correct spelling. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Why would it be a separate entity and not anything else? I think that the beach club's separate location from OPines was the main reason for the separate entity treatment, for IRS tax purposes. You perhaps recall that legislation was needed before there were alcohol drinks allowed at the beach club. I'm thinking it was at the state level a special law was passed, and of course there was local zoning needed, with the former facility just south. Different legalistics, jurisdictions, agencies, of course, but perhaps similar rationale. Needed to get OK for YC alcohol license to apply to separate location, needed enabling legislation. Can't recall what that restaurant run by Dr Burger was named, but I can remember when they held the weekly contests for "best body on the beach". Selective memory, it seems. Also, that restaurant got the "deal" allowing after hrs parking on our OPines lot. Not sure if this was related to zoning issue, greasing the wheels, to sell alcohol drinks at Beach Club. |
