I honestly haven't followed the audit closely enough to warrant comment. From what little I did know, the auditors appeared to be focusing on areas that I knew little factual information about (theft from safes, something about bank deposits, etc.) so I figured I'd wait until the results were published before offering any input.
Additionally, just about everything I might have had to offer I had already presented to the HR director at the time (as well as several BOD members via email, if I recall correctly) in as detailed a manner as possible. If none of that information made its way to the auditors, that's not on me. We went to OPA with our concerns about how Hill behaved with employees and with his erratic behavior when dealing with cash in the form of tips at the YC. We also presented most of those concerns here, for public consumption, after it became clear that our issues were not going to be addressed by HR. Beyond that, I really wasn't willing to get more involved, nor did we feel particularly inclined to repeat ourselves for the millionth time. Now that it is done, it appears the auditors have largely reached the conclusions that I expected they would regarding Hill's overall lack of competence in certain areas, as well as his strange behavior when dealing with other people's cash. I have to re-read the report, because the first time through didn't accurately explain just how in the hell a low-tier restaurant manager with no notable accomplishments was somehow was rewarded an insane contract that paid him out tens of thousands of OP dollars for severance...but I digress. I only commented here after the results of the audit were made public because Ms. Bromley's attempts to defend her behavior during that time struck me as, at best, hypocritical, and at worst, outright dishonest. Like I said...if she knew all of this nonsense was going down, and had evidence to back it up, why didn't she say anything to anyone at the time? My wife and I, for our part, did what we could to bring as much attention to the shadiness we saw, and for our troubles, she got fired. Luckily for us, though, we now get to sit back and watch everyone who was (potentially) involved in any sort of bad behavior publicly attempt to shift blame and throw one another under the bus. I think it will be a fun, satisfying show. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Robert, if you have issues you should have contacted the forensic auditor during the audit. Did you? If not, why not, given your oft-repeated claims on this forum. |
