Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Fines and Legal Fees Msg# 1050102

I am well aware and also believe that the acting GM and former Board are trying to blame each other for that fiasco. There was a lot more going on that had nothing to do with bands, discounts, and hours even though they were huge factors. You can blame the Board, but I don’t think they are even aware of a lot that contributed to the losses, like some exorbitant raises and positions created-not to mention the contract for the YC/BC manager. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Your comment tells me that you may not know as much about how OPA operates as one might assume. The great losses at the yacht club and the Beach club had really not much to do with the individual managing either facility but with the Board of Directors allowing total miss-management to continue for months in the face of mounting losses that were clearly, clearly visible, and after telling the temp GM not to do anything but proceed as the board determined. Two bands; 20% discount; open more hours with fewer customers, etc. |
