Boils down to -- Dishonesty vs unsuccessful mgmt. The exit of both individuals puts OP in better circumstances. One carries a potential criminal record, whereas the other can be influenced by so many variables and intangibles, contributing to lack of success in the restaurant business.
Mismanagement was a far bigger problem than theft. Maybe if only weighing the $$$ effects on OP. However, I'd suggest the opposite idea. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Personally, I really missed the manager that misappropriated $5000 in petty cash over his replacement that lost a few hundred thousand. Mismanagement was a far bigger problem than theft. How about our Director of Finance pays attention to the numbers and reacts if there is a problem rather than do nothing all summer. |
