For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Nearly 40 years ago while living in Annapolis, I waded into Spa Creek on a hot day at a gathering.I had a long surface scrape on the top of my foot- no big deal. Read in the paper a couple days later there had been a sewage spill that weekend. As the weeks went by that scrape turned disgusting. I ended up at the Dr of Infectious Diseases. More weeks went by and even the culture was ‘unknown ‘. It landed me in the hospital on Izoniazide( a tb prevention drug) and rifanpin( general antibacterial antibiotic) Ivs for a few days that didn’t even cure it! After months I finally did some holistic treatments and good ole praying. It finally dried up. But you are certainly right about a small cut. You just never know.. |
