Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Board to Dump Janasek? Msg# 1104412

I am also the past president of a successful local real estate development company. I can assure you my company wouldn’t have been successful if I buckled to every employee who threatened to leave if he didn’t have his way.
Apples and oranges. You were running a privately owned company. OPA is a non-profit corporation run by an elected board of directors. Those directors have voted to implement what is essentially a code of conduct resolution applicable to board members. It is that code of conduct resolution that allows the board to do what it is doing -- at least that is what I recall Joe Moore saying when the board wanted to remove a director but there was no code of conduct in place. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe: ”Viola says either Janasek goes or Viola goes.” I personally like and respect both Viola and Janasek and have no dog in the hunt. However, there is a distinction. Viola is a employee and Janasek is a elected volunteer Director of OPA which is Mr. Viola’s employer. As a past director I have been in Janasek’s seat but more importantly I am also the past president of a successful local real estate development company. I can assure you my company wouldn’t have been successful if I buckled to every employee who threatened to leave if he didn’t have his way. Marty |
