It's a zoom type meeting. You raise your hand. We go in order. Someone has to facilitate that. One could open their mike at anytime and speak up if they felt they were being ignored or unheard. People volunteer to be the group's face at Board meetings. It has been stressed that that does not stop anyone from speaking on their own behalf.
You don't have to be on Facebook to attend zoom meeting. I don't see this group any different than your policy. I don't think anyone has mentioned county officials so I don't have an answer to that part. My glass is half full until the discussion makes me start drinking! |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I'll be watching for specific agendas, thank you for bringing that up. So far, Esther and Colby have been guiding discussion...meaning who is next to talk...asking questions, that sort of thing. What? Esther and Colby are guiding the discussion? Deciding who is next to talk? Does that mean who will be next to give public comments, or what? Maybe I should start deciding who can post what on this forum.

Everyone is encouraged to participate, including the members of the Ocean Pines Association and other elected county officials. Frankly, I have to say yet again how disappointed I am to see Colby involved in what is essentially a political operation. Then again, she now says she wants to retire from Captain's Cove, and apparently has no further interest in becoming GM of Ocean Pines in the future. If you're on Facebook, join the group. Never joined Facebook and not likely to join. |
