Thanks John for joining with Marty's side of this discussion. Seems Marty's approach fits better into the appropriate model for conducting the financial affairs of a Home Owners Association. We can't be having back room deals occurring when more than a million bucks $$$$ of the the home owners obligations at stake.
No matter how appealing the drainage issues appear to be at stake, there's a need for transparency, and protocols to be adhered to. Marty's objections appear to be the more well founded, and exercising more due care, than the alternative being mentioned here. Especially with the back room, secrecy aspects of the alternative. The soon-to-occur referendum will be offering the way to formally constrain such back room dealings, in the future. Tom |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Geez, Marty, you had to bring up that idea that was going solve all our leaf disposal problems, and was considered a good investment by some board members You are correct, it is a classic example of why the boards spending limit should be reduced Keep reminding us of the HISTORY that you have of the sins of the past when needed.
