You really haven’t been paying attention. The plan I am talking about developed by Colby and others took water from OP and diverted it to a storm water retention pond on the old golf course property. That plan even was approved by the State for a grant. Unfortunately, at the last minute the developer backed out and would not allow OPA to send water to the pond.
What is now underway is a portion of that plan with increased captivity for Bainbridge Pond and some other work. However, we still have no place to get rid of the water. There are old plans for a drain pipe down Beauchamp Road but the estimate from 10 years or so ago was $14 million. Not likely to be done and association members will just suffer with the flooding (My apologies. The amount a decade ago was $4 million, not $14 and the cost today was estimated to be around $8 million.) Not buying that property was a very costly mistake, in more ways than one, regardless of what Marty says And regardless of any secrecy involved in the initial discussions. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Could that involve a drainage easement across that property to carry the discharge away? Or some other plan? What's the plan the recent group agreed on? |
